Coalbed/Coalseam Methane Evaluation Log

The approach to formation evaluation used by Stimulation Petrophysics Consulting is a structured methodology incorporating all the wireline log data (open hole and cased hole), mud logging, drilling and core evaluation that is provided or available into a single interpretation. The CBM/CSM Evaluation log is calibrated using locally available core data. Both coals and the surrounding shales or sands are also included for a full resource potential. The main objective of this evaluation is to determine the reservoir storage capacity, flow capacity, mineralogy and mechanical rock properties while honoring physical data measurements. The results of this analysis are instrumental in the pay zone identification, stimulation treatment design and reservoir modeling.

Benefits of the CBM Analysis Log:

  1. CBM Resource Assessment: Define coal thickness, tons/acre and gas content
  2. Sand and Shale Resource Estimate: Determine the reservoir properties and resource potential of the shales or sands between the coals for additional gas resource or to identify the source of unwanted water production
  3. Frac Model Inputs: Derive the inputs necessary for importing into the frac model of your choice
